A good quality French brass desk lamp in the style of and possibly designed by W.A.S Benson but produced by an Unknown French designer. The lamp is complimented with an original period continental opalescent glass lampshade. The lamp is apparently unsigned.  France c.1925

Provenance:

• Due to W.A.S Benson’s popularity in France his designs were most probably copied with or without permission by one or more French manufacturers.  This lamp bears the clear resemblance to the Benson model no.1079 (see photo) however with some more decorative French twists such as the more elaborate base design and more decorative finials to adjustable sections of the light.
